Privacy Collection Notice

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Who collects your information

Kmart collects the personal information you provide through this recruitment website. This notice is given under Australian Privacy Principle 5.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address, Australian mobile number and location details.
  • Your earliest available start date, availability notes and optional LinkedIn profile.
  • Your written response about your suitability, and your resume if you upload one.
  • If you receive a conditional offer: identity documents, a selfie holding your document and proof of address, for identity and right-to-work verification only.

Why we collect it

To assess your application, contact you about the role, confirm your identity and right to work in Australia, and meet our record-keeping obligations as an employer. Providing this information is voluntary, but we cannot progress an application without it.

How it is stored

Applications are stored in an access-controlled database with row-level security. Documents and resumes are held in private storage and are only ever accessed through short-lived, signed links by authorised administrators. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and hosted in an Australian region where supported by our infrastructure provider. Administrator access to candidate records is logged.

Disclosure

We do not sell your information. We disclose it only to our recruitment and operations staff, to service providers who host or secure our systems under contract, and where required by Australian law.

Retention and your rights

We keep unsuccessful applications for a configurable retention period and delete verification documents sooner. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time through our data request page.

Payments

We never request payment from candidates at any stage. Identity verification is requested only after a conditional job offer, requires no payment and does not guarantee employment.
